I am a 26 year old business owner and software developer. I was born in Mumbai, and am currently based in Toronto. I'm always happy to make friends online, so I urge you to send me an email to say hello 👋 and introduce yourself. I love getting to know people around the world. No need to ask a question. Just tell me where you are and what you're working on. I reply to all (as inspired by an email exchange with Derek).
Anybody who has met me knows that I am a goal-oriented person, which means:
I have no intention of retiring early or having a 4-hour work week. I find deep joy and happiness in learning + creating. Work should be fun, and for me, that means trying to discover how the world works by applying myself to challenging projects.
Right now I'm working on Budget Mate: AI Budget Tracker. I've previously built 2 other projects: EventBot: Real-Time Business Notifications, Deep Meditate: Relax & Sleep.
- Year 1997: Born in Mumbai, India
- Year 2015: Launch Startup #2: VozzApp - a voice-based social networking app. Failed.
- Year xyz: Launch Startup #3 GetBoocs - a marketplace for anyone to list their book library and exchange books with strangers. Failed.
- Studied science and economics for 12 years. Worked hard to achieve 90+% in my 10th and 12th grade exams.
- Started studying engineering at UBC in Vancouver in 2016. In my first year I got terrible grades and ended up being placed in Mining Engineering. The only silver linings during this period were weekly dinners with other tech nerds and discovering how much I enjoyed working out at the gym.
- Studied hard to earn an 80% grade that year, and transferred out of Mining Engineering at UBC, going to Carleton University in Ottawa to study Computer Mathematics.
- Built Deep Meditate: Relax & Sleep in
- In December 2019, I started Deep Meditate and went through YC. It's been nearly 2 years since then and we recently reached a
milestone of 1800 paying users and $83k ARR profitably! I'm still operating as a company of one and I have recently been hiring
some contractors on a part-time basis. I feel lucky that I'm finally in a position where I absolutely love what I do and I'm proud
of the impact that my work has had so far.
In addition to this site, you can find me on Twitter where I talk about my experiences building products.
